In August of 2019, we started our Forever Touring blog. The idea of starting a travel blog had been brewing for some time, and we finally decided to kick things off one year ago. This first year has gone by very quickly and we have enjoyed writing each and every blog post. Admittedly though, 2020 has not turned out to be the best time to write about travel, but we are hopeful that travel opportunities will continue to expand during the next 12 months.

Now that we have reached this milestone, we thought this would be a good point to reflect on some of our most popular posts so far. So, please join us as we share those articles that have been the most popular with our readers. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you.

Tips

– Tips for Packing Light – On Your Next Flight

This post was by far the most popular article of the year. We try to fly using only carry-on luggage whenever possible and the suggestions in this post help us do that. However, even if you are using multiple pieces of checked luggage, this article provides lots of tips and products that will help you pack in a more efficient and organized manner.

– How to Pack for the TSA – Fitting it All in that Little Quart Bag

This blog post was also very popular and actually pairs well with our Packing Light blog post. When you fly, it can be tough to fit all your liquids into a single quart bag. In this article, we discuss ways to minimize those liquid items in order to meet TSA requirements, while still bringing along everything you need.

Viking is a very popular cruise line for both river and ocean cruises. And by the way, a lot of these same tips apply to all cruise lines and may be helpful regardless of which cruise line you choose.

Destinations

– Asheville – ‘Land of the Sky’

Asheville, North Carolina has always been one of our favorite vacation destinations. So much so, that we now live there! Join us for a 4-part series that covers all the best that Asheville has to offer including mountains, hiking, craft beers, wonderful wines and amazing restaurants.

– Yosemite in 3 Days

Yosemite National Park is one the most well-known national parks, and for good reason. With all of its iconic landmarks such as El Capitan, Half Dome and Yosemite Falls, the park is definitely a ‘bucket list’ destination. If you only have a short time to see Yosemite, this post covers an itinerary that will allow you to see all the main sites of this national treasure in a just 3 days.

– Palm Island – The Perfect Social Distancing Vacation

Its been quite a year and sadly a lot of folks have had to cancel their summer vacation plans. However, if you are looking for a vacation opportunity that will also allow you to socially distance yourself, Palm Island Resort on Florida’s west coast is the place to go. With its 7 miles of unspoiled and unpopulated beaches, Palm Island is the perfect place to relax and not have to worry about any crowds.

– Budapest in 3 Days

While overseas travel is not very practical right now, at some point we will again be able to enjoy international travel. One of our favorite destinations is Budapest, Hungary. It is a large city that can offer whatever you are looking for, but its also small enough that you can easily get around to see the main sites. This post covers a 3-day itinerary in this beautiful city, allowing you to take in the traditional sites, as well as a couple that are off the beaten path.

– Highlights of Prague

Prague has become quite a popular destination and we would highly recommend visiting this historic city. Since Prague sustained much less damage during World War II, much of the Old Town is original, with some buildings dating back to the 14th century. There are so many great things to experience in this city, including the architecture, culture, food and friendly people, which all help to make Prague an amazing destination.
